Today, we bid Jeanette farewell on her last day with us, expressing our gratitude for the indelible mark she left behind. Throughout her tenure at our library, Jeanette has significantly impacted our institution, the legal research community, and the countless individuals she has guided and inspired.
“It has been a pleasure and privilege to work with you. The contribution you’ve made to the library and the Law Society over the years has been tremendous. Your knowledge, leadership and presence in the Great Library will be missed.”
CR&A
As a manager, Jeanette played a vital role in developing and enhancing our library’s user services, legal research support services, and library collection. Her meticulous attention to detail and profound understanding of our users’ needs and legal research requirements have been instrumental in maintaining our library’s reputation as a trusted and reliable source of information. Jeanette’s commitment to excellence has driven continuous improvement, allowing us to meet the evolving demands of our patrons and provide them with valuable resources and assistance.
Jeanette’s comprehensive understanding of Canadian and US legal research made her a sought-after speaker at conferences and Continuing Professional Development (CPD) programs. Her presentations on legal research captivated audiences and inspired legal professionals to enhance their practical skills and excel in their practice. As an adjunct professor at the University of Toronto, Jeanette dedicated herself to teaching the art of legal research and writing, nurturing aspiring legal professionals and equipping them with the necessary skills for success in their future careers.
“I don’t know how it’s possible, but I learned more things from Jeanette than there were days that I worked with her.”

Jeanette’s exceptional qualities extended beyond her managerial responsibilities. She uniquely connected with patrons and colleagues, making them feel valued, supported, and empowered. Her approachability and willingness to go above and beyond in assisting library patrons created a welcoming and inclusive environment for all who sought her guidance.
In addition to serving our patrons, Jeanette took great pride in mentoring and supporting junior staff members. She understood the importance of fostering growth and nurturing the next generation of librarians. By sharing her expertise, offering guidance, and investing time in their professional development, Jeanette profoundly impacted their careers. As a committed mentor, she also impacted them on a personal level, demonstrating what it’s like to meet the world with unwavering compassion, kindness, and poise.
“She greeted every day with a smile, even though I’m sure she didn’t always feel like smiling. Every idea I had, no matter how wild, she would listen to and consider equally. She was the best.”
