The Law Society of Ontario started building their library collection in 1827 [1], so the Great Library is home to various historical and pre-confederation materials. However, you can find even more historical Canadian documents online through a source called Canadiana.

A reminder that the Great Library will be closed Monday, October 10 for Thanksgiving. However, we will be open Saturday, October 8 from 11:00am-5:00pm. The Library is not open Sundays. Regular hours will resume Tuesday, October 11. Visit our Library Hours webpage for more information.
Cats in Court
Now, there are a lot of stereotypes surrounding librarians, and one you may have heard of is our deep appreciation of (or at least healthy respect for) cats. And while I admit to breaking the mould a little by being one of the very few librarians in Great Library history to not own a cat, I can honestly say that their sassy antics and I-don’t-give-a-care je ne sais quoi give me a deep sense of joy.
