The National Self-Represented Litigants Project (NSRLP) has initiated a number of successful access-to-justice projects and resources over the past 5 years, including the increasingly useful National Directory of Professionals Assisting SRLs.
The directory was started in 2016. It now includes listings from over 300 lawyers across Canada, as well as paralegals, who are willing to provide self-represented litigants with affordable assistance, primarily in the form of unbundled legal or limited scope services.
The directory can be filtered by city, province, and type of professional. Entries provide standard information (name, areas of law practiced and contact information), but also let the user know the types of services offered, including unbundled legal services, fixed fees or limited scope retainers, and whether the lawyer or paralegal is able to provide remote services, either online or by phone.
Lawyers and paralegals wanting to be added to the directory can learn more and sign up on the NSRLP website.
