An update on Family Legal Services Providers (FLSP)

As outlined in a previous blog post, the Law Society of Ontario’s Convocation had approved a report proposing a Family Legal Services Provider (FLSP) Licence for paralegals. More information about this program can be found on the Law Society’s new dedicated FLSP page, in the paralegal section of LSO.ca.

In October 2023, Fanshawe College was selected to collaborate with the LSO on the design and development of the competency-based training program for paralegals. Fanshawe will be delivering the program– registration will open on August 19th, 2024, for the winter program starting in January 2025. The program will be delivered online, in full-time and part-time formats, and offered in English and French.

For more details about the program, including learning outcomes and admission requirements, check out Fanshawe College’s website > Family Legal Services Provider
