National Day for Truth and Reconciliation – September 30, 2026

The Great Library will be closed for National Day for Truth and Reconciliation this coming Wednesday, September 30, 2026. We will resume normal hours of operation Thursday, October 1.

In recognition of the day’s significance, we encourage everyone who encounters this post to use the day to learn, reflect, and consider how we can contribute to reconciliation, both individually and collectively. Library Closure September 30, 2025 – National Day for Truth and Reconciliation

The Great Library will be closed Tuesday, September 30 in recognition of National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.

According to Honourable Justice Murray Sinclair-baa, Chair of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission, “Education¹ is what got us into this mess and education² is key to getting us out of it.” In the spirit of this sentiment, we would like to draw your attention to two fundamental Indigenous Law resources, now publicly available via CanLII.

Monday, September 30, 2024 marks the 4th National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, the federally recognized occasion to reflect and honour Survivors, their families, and communities affected by the legacy of Indian Residential Schools in Canada. The Great Library will be closed in observance of this important moment of contemplation.
